Dem Wacky Republican’ts When asked

Dem Wacky Republican’ts
When asked for a comment on Senator Santorum’s remarks, Delgaudio expressed outrage at the suggestion that his actions could be lumped in with those of the homosexuals. Senator Santorum replied - “I don’t have any animosity toward pedophiles, it is the act of pedophilia that I despise.”

Okay - that never really happened, but this is real.

Fun with Sexual Harassment

April 26, 2003 · No Comments

Now, see - I know this is probably technically sexual harassment and all, but boy do I ever think it’s uproariously funny, and, quite possibly would make an excellent ploy to get people flying again. I think Southwest ought to rethink its position on this…

Oh, Good - there is

April 26, 2003 · No Comments

Oh, Good - there is still stuff to be cranky about
Exhibit A - The sheer arrogance of the Bush administration. “Well, by weapons of mass destruction, what we meant was that they were stockpiling hairspray and butane lighters…”
Exhibit B - Having to kind of admire Andy Rooney.
Exhibit C - Editors who, with straight faces will argue that because they are not government entities, their supression of First Amendment Freedoms isn’t reprehensible. Check here for what happened in San Francisco. Check here to see the actions of the Hartford (CT) Courant. I know, and understand the Constitution. I know that the media bosses are within their contract rights, and cannot, possibly violate the first amendment, not being government entities and all. I get that. But I would suggest that just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should do it.
Exhibit D - This little gem. I particularly like the quote “The president believes the senator is an inclusive man. And that’s what he believes.” Did you see that that second sentence, meant to bolster the argument in the first, serves absolutlely no purpose? Unless, you know, you picture Ari Fleischer rolling his eyes while he says it. Then it makes more sense. I also like the bit where they trot out the old “special rights” argument, which, in case you haven’t been paying attention, doesn’t really mean anything. Particularly in this context. And, in fact, I would suggest that the law in question singles the gay community out for “special treatment.”

How Well do you Know yourself?

April 23, 2003 · No Comments

I can’t remember if I’ve posted this before. I hope not. It’s delicious fun, and quite eye-opening, if you wish to have your eyes opened. An interactive place to test and explore your hidden racial biases. Some of my own biases under this test were quite difficult to swallow.

April 23, 2003 · No Comments

Well, after a brief hiatus, I am back, and I am pissy.

1. Rick Santorum’s complete remarks. Let me be the ninety five thousandth to say What an Asshole. In fact, Assholes like this give assholes a bad name. In fact, let’s just, on this pretty April Day, declare this guy the official asshole of 2003.

I guess that’s all that I’m pissy about today. I am going to search for fun web toys for you to play with. Back in a jiffy.
