Recently I found out that this ancestor in my family that I always thought had an Irish last name? That it is actually an anglicized French last name that dates back to some Hugenot that came to the US in the 1600s. Weird, huh?
Also I found out that his mother died at 25 but her old goat of a husband married three more times and died in his 70s or 80s having sired several children. And then I am glad that I am not my great great great grandmother, because being in my forties is fun.
