Empty Tombs

What we made in Sunday School Today…

1 tube of Biscuit dough
Some brown Sugar
One Marshmallow per tomb

Read Matthew 28: 1-10

Take 1 piece of biscuit dough (enough to make a buscuit). Flatten it out. Sprinkle it with brown sugar. Wrap it around a marshmallow. Bake at 425 for about 10 minutes, but watch carefully to make sure it doesn’t burn.

1 tube of biscuit dough makes about 10.

Talk about the empty tomb, and what people maybe thought when they got there.

Optional: Wiggle obsessively in your seat. Talk without raising your hands. Stick the dough to a paper plate and complain that you need more dough. Complain that other people didn’t wash their hands and how are we going to keep track of which empty tomb goes with which kid. Jump out of your seat and head out the door looking for your mother. Ask if Matthew is in the Old or New Testament. Say you can’t find the New Testament. Slam your Bible shut really loudly. Interrupt. Decide that the marshmallow is Jesus.

  1. About that JAR of pad thai sauce: way cheaper and easier than going to the store: equal parts fish sauce, sugar, and lime juice (or vinegar). Add a squirt of ketchup to give it some red. Simmer for a few minutes.
